Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult year, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

The win also signifies he has won 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on court had caused commentators to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, supported by an better service.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
